Kansas City Senior Centers offer a variety of programs and services to help senior citizens maintain their independence and vitality and provide a place for seniors to have the opportunity to meet other seniors through social interaction.

Programs include activities, educational classes, counseling and support groups, volunteer opportunities, and wellness programs. Many Senior Centers in Kansas City also offer meals, help with financial and medical paperwork, transportation to and from the center, shopping trips, outings, and other social services.

Kansas City Adult Centers for education and activities for those 50+ are for those more active adults. Adult centers are usually part of the Parks & Recreation Departments of city and county.

The mission of the Palmer Senior Center is to improve the overall health of adults age 50 and above in the community. The Palmer Senior Center offers a congregate meals program, volunteer opportunities, and educational and leisure activities. The facility has a welcome center, gymnasium, fitness room, an outdoor patio, meeting space, a games and crafts room, library, computer lab, and a full service kitchen and dining hall. Additional activities include holiday gatherings, social events, and day trips.

We enable seniors to live full and independent lives by providing nutrition services as well as opportunities to interact with others and socialize in activities throughout the community. PSSI is a 501C 3 nonprofit agency serving Platte County seniors, age 60 and older, since 1982. We provide activities, education, exercise and various services at our Centers.

Congregate Meals on Wheels Kansas City

Many Kansas City Senior Centers serve congregate meals such as breakfast and a hot nutritious lunch free or for a small donation. Senior Centers usually ask that meal reservations be made one day in advance. To reserve your congregate meal breakfast or lunch contact your local Senior Center. Senior Centers also serve as a base of operations for the popular Meals on Wheels program.
